I accept no earthly idea where my word files are....I no longer have a start push button that works. I no longer accept a shortcut menu located on the popup screen that should initiate when the start button is activated. This seems to be a lot of ****....where they want me to buy Microsoft Word for this new stuff. Totally frustrating. I can't even open up a file that shows my files.
I promise you tin provide me some SIMPLIFIED instructions as I am not computer literate or a genuis on the computer.

I found the simplest way to write a letter in Windows10 was to use Wordpad, which y'all volition detect in Apps, Windows, Accessories.

THIS should be the #1 answer! Not that silly Microsoft techy junk and all the questions!
we want to TYPE - like we Always have - and take it simple. The stupid tiles and the lack of the first button doing things information technology has always done...that'due south but DUMB. Why change things that existed the same style for decades?
Anyway - this is all I needed. I don't want to buy anything else, and I just want to type letters to clients, print them, and store them if I am making a alphabetic character I volition apply over and over. Encounter? unproblematic is good you lot lightheaded MS people! THIS process is all I needed - thank y'all stuartschofieldPH!

The aforementioned i I used to have before windows ten update. don't recall its name I thingit was word or some such thing

MS Discussion isn't function of Windows, it is a program that is function of MS Office. The but text editing programs that ever were and still are role of Windows are Notepad, which is quite simplistic and Wordpad which can do better quality documents.
Some computer manufacturers bundled a starter version of MS Part with their computers simply that version of the programme is apparently not uniform with Windows ten so it doesn't get carried over during the upgrade.
MS Works is another productivity suite with word processing that was oftentimes bundled with computers but that also is a split product. Some of the newer versions of Works can exist re-installed into Windows ten if you have the installation discs.
New versions of Office have to be bought. In that location are some freeware programs, such equally OpenOffice, which take the same functions and tin open up many types of Discussion or Excel files.
